We won’t lie: We are super excited.
Way We Do Co-Founder and CEO, Jacqui Jones has made the finals in the Australian Government’s “Australian Women in Tech Pitch Event”. She is one of only 11 women from around the country who have been chosen as Finalists, each of whom will be given the opportunity to pitch their ideas to global industry leaders, partners and investors this week.
Established jointly by the Australian Government Departments of Trade, Tourism and Investment and of Industry, Science and Technology, the Australian Women in Tech Pitch Event provides “… a unique platform for Australia’s best and brightest tech founders to catapult their ideas onto the world-stage (and) is about supporting Australia’s female entrepreneurs, particularly in the tech sector, to take their innovations to the next level”.
The Australian Women in Tech Pitch Event is being held in Brisbane on Thursday, 1 August 2019. The Way We Do team will be there in body and spirit to cheer her on. At the event, Jacqui and her fellow Finalists will each have just three minutes to give their pitches, followed by five minutes of questioning from a panel of high-profile international judges.
And if she wins, Way We Do’s CEO will gain automatic entry into an Australian Landing Pad in either Berlin, San Francisco, Shanghai, Singapore or Tel Aviv, with introductions to potential customers and partners, and access to advice on local markets.
Australia’s Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Simon Birmingham, described the level of innovation and creativity among this year’s Finalists as “truly inspirational”. We are extremely proud of what Jacqui has accomplished in reaching this level of recognition. (Take a peek at the list of Finalists here – https://www.austrade.gov.au/womenintech).
We wish Jacqui all the best with her pitch on Thursday. And no matter which way the competition goes, we’ll know we have one of the country’s best and brightest leading Way We Do into an innovative and successful future — for everyone involved.
